higher education on this island and about how the university is being active
toward peace and National Peace Day.
August 19 - Margaret Drake will lead a discussion of the UN second Millennium
Goal "Achieving universal primary education" School has started again so it is
particularly timely for discussion. Lee Collins assists by discussing the local
school situation. We will also celebrate our annual "water communion" in which
congregants bring real or symbolic water from a place visited during summer to
pour into a communal vessel to symbolize our reassembling for fall.

Amida Trust on"Engaged Buddhism" facilitated by Dana Callihan. The Brazier's
are visiting from their home in the United Kingdom and will talk about some
aspect of Engaged Buddhism. David Brazier is head of the group with which Paul
Norman, a recent speaker, is affiliated.

will present of his most current healthcare concerns. Potluck afterward at Kathy
Stariha & Michael Scotts'.
July 29 - Darya and Dana Callihan will lead a discussion of opportunities for local Peacemaking Projects, prioritizing the list of possibilities.
July 22 - Bobbie Alicen will lead a
discussion on a report from her recent attendance at the UUA General Assembly.
The report will be distributed in advance of the program for people to read and
come prepared to discuss.
July 15 - Paul Norman of the "Walking Buddhists" will present on
Non-Violence.

December 3 - "Shinto Religion" led by Laura Friedman, an intern minister from the Honolulu Unitarian Universalist church.
December 10 - "Buddhism and Unitarian Universalism- a comparison" led by Geri Randall.
December 17 - "Superstition or Faith?" will be the topic presented by Don Swerdfeger, retired Methodist minister.
December 24 - No meeting. Rather, in the evening we will be gathering at the home of Bobbie Alicen for a Folk Christmas gathering. The festivities begin at 7:00 pm. Please bring along finger food to share and holiday readings (poems, etc.) that you'd like to contribute. We'll sing carols and have lots of fun.
December 31 - "Top 3 Events of 2006" discussion led by Margaret Drake.
